Who we are

Family Legacy Recovery LLC, in Utah, runs this site and this service. You can reach us at 385-787-6279 or michael@familylegacyrecovery.com.

Where your information comes from

If you booked a call or wrote to us, it comes from you. If we contacted you first, we found your name and contact details in the course of our own research, which can include commercial people-search services. We use what we find only to reach the people a tax sale may owe money to, and to check that we have the right person.

What we collect

This site has no form. When you book a call on Michael's calendar, Cal.com collects these and passes them to us:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number
  • The time you pick, in your time zone
  • Any answers you give on the booking page

If you write to us, or tell us more when we talk, we also keep what you tell us: an email address, for example, or the property that was sold and how you are connected to it.

After you sign. A claim usually needs more from you, depending on what has to be shown before the money can be released to you: proof of who you are, such as a copy of a photo ID and sometimes your Social Security number; papers that show how you are connected to the property, such as a death certificate or proof that you are an heir; and how you want the money paid to you. We ask for these only after you have signed, and only what your claim needs.

When you visit this site. Vercel, which hosts it, keeps standard server logs: your IP address, your browser and the pages you asked for. We do not use them to identify you.

A phone number you give us is used to call or text you about your booking, your inquiry or your claim, and for nothing else. We do not send marketing texts, and we do not use automated dialers.

Phone calls with us are recorded and transcribed, and text messages are kept, so that there is an accurate record of what was said and agreed. If you would rather not be recorded, tell us and we will keep to writing with you instead.

How we use it

  • To call you at the time you booked, and to respond to your inquiry
  • To keep you informed about the status of your claim

What we do not do

We do not sell or rent your information. We do not share it with anyone except those who must see it to deal with your claim, or where the law requires it. Those are:

  • someone authorized to witness and certify your signature, when a document you sign needs that;
  • the government officials who review a claim and pay it out, who need your details and documents to do so;
  • when a claim needs a court, the judge and court staff, and any attorney involved in your claim, such as one representing you, an estate or another claimant.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Service providers

A few companies handle data on our behalf so this site and our service can work:

  • Resend sends the emails our casework system sends you.
  • Google Workspace holds our email, including the booking notices Cal.com sends us.
  • Quo runs our phone line: calls and texts, and the recordings and transcripts of calls.
  • Cal.com runs our booking page. If you pick a time there, Cal.com collects the name, contact details and answers you give it, passes them to us, and emails you a confirmation and a calendar invitation for the time you book. Its page sets its own cookies and has its own privacy policy.
  • Supabase stores our casework records.
  • Vercel hosts this website and our casework system, keeps standard server logs, and provides privacy-friendly visitor analytics on this site that do not use cookies or track you across sites.

Text messages

We text only about your booking, your inquiry or your claim, from 385-787-6279. How often depends on where your claim is. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time and we will not text you again; reply HELP, or call us, for help.

How we protect it

Michael handles every case himself, and he is the only person at Family Legacy Recovery LLC who sees your information. Outside the company, only the people listed under “What we do not do” see it, and only what your claim needs. It is kept in the services named above, and it travels to and from them encrypted. If we ever learn that your information has been exposed, we will tell you, as Utah law requires.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies. The visitor analytics run without cookies and do not follow you to other sites, which is why there is no cookie banner to click through. The booking calendar opens on Cal.com's own site, which sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy.

If you choose the light or dark look with the switch at the top or bottom of the page, your browser remembers that choice in its own storage on your device, so the next page opens the same way. It is not a cookie, it is never sent to us, and clearing your browser's site data removes it.

How long we keep it

A promise with no period in it is not a promise, so here are the periods we hold ourselves to:

  • A booking or inquiry that does not become a claim — kept for up to twelve months from your booking or your last message, whichever is later, then deleted, including the copy Cal.com keeps. Twelve months because people often come back to this months later, and because a second letter from someone else is a reason to look again at the first.
  • A signed claim — kept for seven years after the claim closes, whatever the outcome. Seven years is what tax and business record-keeping requires of us; we do not get to delete it sooner, and we say so rather than promise otherwise.

Call recordings, transcripts and text messages are kept for the same periods as the rest of your inquiry or claim.

You can ask us to delete anything before those periods are up, and we will unless the law requires us to keep it — in which case we will tell you which part we have to keep and why.

Your choices

You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Call 385-787-6279 or write to michael@familylegacyrecovery.com.

Children

This site and our service are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us their details, tell us and we will delete them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated date.
